Ending, then Beginning Anew

I have found life is made up of beginning something, then ending it, then beginning another. It may seem nihilistic to say that everything good will end, but that goes the other way as well. All bad things will eventually end as well, if you’re willing to stick it out.

And so, this new beginning is exciting. Starting a business is both harder than I thought but miles easier than I expected. There are no real blueprints, everything is so nuanced, and the research for it has been so much fun. As I lock down the final steps for my business, I have already learned so much, about business yes, but about life. Lessons I will keep with me long past today.

Timing is the word of the day. In the words of Grover Washington Jr. “Good things may come to those who wait, but not for those who wait too late.”

Are you actually waiting for the best time to commit to a new venture, or are you procrastinating? There will never be a “perfect time,” life is too unpredictable. I find myself falling to this fallacy. I tell myself “Okay I’ll do it when I have more money,” or “next week for sure I’ll have it done” and it never does. Whether it’s fear of failure or fear of how difficult it may be I’m not too sure, but I work every day to move past it. I doubt it will ever be easy for me to take such a leap of faith, but I do believe it gets easier.

Although this is a short blog for y’all, the point is, try new ventures! Do hard things! Don’t let the first step prevent you from running the race. You may find new knowledge and joy in the journey.
